DARK POP 4
Guest curated by Gary Pressman

NEW YORK, NY (March 3rd, 2012)- Last Rites Gallery presents “Dark Pop 4″ group art exhibition.

Last Rites Gallery, for the fourth consecutive year, presents the “Dark Pop 4″ group art exhibition guest curated by Gary Pressman (director of Copro Gallery). Artists are asked to create One piece that is truly considered ‘Dark Art’. Many artists find themselves in the groove of creating a certain mood or emotion through their work and have, understandably, become quite comfortable following this path in their art-making. At Last Rites Gallery we want to break that mold and challenge artists to create a piece that searches through new or buried feelings and emotions. The artist’s will let go of the light and allow the dark to thrive, as pop takes on a new form.

Artists Include: Alexandra Pacula, Ana Bagayan, Annie Owens, Becca, Brian Despain, Cathie Bleck, Charles Wish, Chrystal Chan, Dark Vomit, Dave MacDowell, Eric Alos, Eric Richardson, Francesco De Molfetta, Isabel Samaras, Jennybird Alcantara, Joe Vaux, John Brophy, Mark Elliott, Mark Garro, Mascorro, Matt Dangler, Matthew Grabelsky, Niagara, TIN, Travis Lampe, Travis Louie, Yoko d’Holbachie

Opening Reception:
Saturday, March 3rd, 7-11pm
Show runs until April 8th

Black Christmas - Group Art Show Opening Night - December 10, 2011 – www.CoproGallery.com

Arrrrghhh!! —  Witness the execution of Rosemary’s Billygoat. …by the Electric Chair!

Copro Gallery presents the “Black Christmas” group art exhibition. Dark legends lurk behind the lights and merriment of Christmas. Mischievous creatures, half-animal pranksters and the feared helpers of St. Nicholas bring dread and trepidation to the festive season. It’s all a part of the capitalist conspiracy that Santa Claus perpetrates with his mass media blitz of mind control consumerism. What evil lurks behind his white beard and twisted mustache? Artists will help celebrate the Dark side of the Holidays with interpretations of a Black Christmas.

Curated by Rick Galiher and Copro Gallery
Artists included: Chet Zar, Luke Chueh, Dark Vomit, Glenn Barr, Dave MacDowell, Genevive Zacconi, Alex Schaefer, Mascorro, Super Cooper, Albert Cuellar, Mark Mothersbaugh, Lang Leav Quintana, Brian Despain, Erik Alos, Brian Smith, Clare Toms, Scott Yeskel, Matthew Price, James Zar, Craig LaRotonda, David Russell Talbott, Jim Pavelec, Neil Winn, Kate Rangel, Lauren Rusignola, Rudy Fig, C. Kirk, & more.
